Community Outreach
Creating Positive Change
At the Virginia Spine Institute we are committed to creating positive change in our community through our philanthropic and volunteer efforts. We lead by example and hope to inspire others to make a difference. Our pledge to impact the community is firmly rooted in our core values and organizational culture.
Local Giving
We are making a difference through donations and hands-on efforts to local community organizations. We believe that it is our responsibility to give back to the community that is directly served by our organization. The Virginia Spine Institute contributes to many local organizations helping to make our neighborhoods a better place to live. Some of these recipients include:
National Partner
Our dedication to fighting spinal disease is demonstrated through our partnership with the Spinal Research Foundation (SRF). SRF is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving spinal health care through research, education, and patient advocacy. Through its efforts, SRF collaborates with spinal research centers around the world to prove the success of traditional approaches as well as develop new techniques and technologies. These results are shared with both the medical profession and the general public to improve the overall quality and understanding of optimal spinal health care.
The Virginia Spine Institute is actively involved in this organization through philanthropic efforts, participation in clinical trials and editorial contributions in The Journal of The Spinal Research Foundation. In addition, our physicians have taken a leadership role within SRF; Dr. Thomas C. Schuler serves as the President on the Board of Directors and Dr. Brian R. Subach is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Spinal Research Foundation. Their efforts have been the driving force in the development of SRF. In 2008, The Virginia Spine Institute was designated as one of fourteen national Centers of Excellence by the Spinal Research Foundation.
Since 2008, the Virginia Spine Institute has been the regional sponsor and host of the Spinal Research Foundation's We've Got Your Back race for spinal health.
