treatment, however, if necessary, I utilize the most
appropriate surgical procedures available. I desire
to return a patient to an active lifestyle as rapidly
as possible."
Michael W. Hasz, M.D. graduated
with honors from St. John’s University, Minnesota,
in 1982. He received his medical degree
from the University of Minnesota. He went
on to complete his Orthopaedic Surgery training
at Mount Carmel Mercy Hospital / Grace Hospital
in Detroit, Michigan and followed with a
Spinal Surgery Fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital
in Royal Oak, Michigan. Prior to joining the Virginia
Spine Institute, Dr. Hasz served as an officer in the
United States Air Force. He was Chairman of the Department
of Orthopaedic Surgery and Director of Spinal Surgery
at the Andrews Air Force Base / Malcolm Grow Medical Center
in Maryland. He currently holds an appointment as Clinical
Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Assistant Professor
of Surgery at the Uniformed Services Health
Science University in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Hasz is Board Certified by the American Board of Spinal Surgery
and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a Fellow
in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member
of both the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons and
the North American Spine Society.
