VSI Makes Thanksgiving Special for Needy Families

Posted on: 11/23/2009

Thanksgiving is a holiday that brings friends and family together for a wonderful meal.  Regrettably, not everyone is fortunate enough to afford a Thanksgiving meal.  This year The Virginia Spine Institute (VSI) took part in Reston Interfaith’s Thanksgiving Food Drive to help needy families in Northern Virginia. Participation was astounding and over 45 boxes were collected by VSI employees.  Each box was filled to the brim with the essentials for a hearty Thanksgiving feast, along with a gift card to a grocery store so that each family could enjoy a fresh turkey or ham to complete their meal.

“We were thrilled to see our employees rally around this drive.  Even in challenging economic times, our staff continues their strong tradition of giving back to those less fortunate.  Everyone had a great time piecing the meals together and we hope the recipient families have a wonderful holiday,” said Tina Stuber, Human Resource Manager and holiday food drive coordinator.
