I would like to thank everyone at Virginia Spine Institute. You all have given me my life back. I am 66 years old, and up until two years ago, was taking dance classes, volunteering at Arlington Jail with female offenders, and traveling both here and abroad. With the onset of spinal stenosis and spondylosis at L4/L5 in 2014, I was no longer able to do any of the above. Even walking my dog was painful.
I went to a noted orthopedic practice here in Alexandria. I tried physical therapy, spinal injections, and acupuncture. Nothing worked and I was not satisfied with the orthopedic practice for a variety of reasons. After much research I made an appointment at Virginia Spine Institute. From the initial consultation I felt more confident in the practice. Everyone I spoke to, including all of the PA’s and medical assistants, were professional, knowledgeable, and kind. Everyone spent time explaining my options, answering my questions and listening to my concerns. James Downey, my surgical scheduler, went above and beyond in scheduling and coordinating the transmittal of information regarding my surgery. The office staff has always been friendly and helpful.
My surgery went well, with little pain both in the hospital and at home afterwards. The pain in my leg and buttocks area that had necessitated the surgery is totally gone. I felt like I was in good hands throughout. I am so grateful and thankful I went to Virginia Spine Institute and chose the two part spinal fusion surgery. You all have truly made a difference and given me a new lease on life. I can’t wait to start traveling again in the fall.
I commend you all on the work that you do. I have no hesitation recommending your practice to anyone!
