We are proud to introduce the newest member of our Physician Assistant team, Lauren Sylvina. Our roving reporter was finally able to catch up with her as she was busy being on-boarded to the award-winning Virginia Spine Institute team. Our Physician Assistants are an integral part of our medical team here at VSI and have been hand selected to work with our spinal specialists.  Welcome aboard, Lauren!

what drove you to become a pa?

I have wanted to become a physician assistant ever since I was in high school. I have always been active and played a lot of sports growing up, which resulted in a lot of injuries. I saw a PA for one of my injuries, which sparked my interest in the field.

what is the most rewarding part of your work as a pa?

The most rewarding part of my job is educating patients so that they feel they are a active member of their care.

what intrigued you about joining virginia spine institute?

I was very interested in joining VSI once I learned about their comprehensive model to treating patients. My initial impression was that VSI is very organized and that the employees seem genuinely happy.

what are you most looking forward to during your career at vsi?

I am looking forward to expanding my career in the field of spine at VSI, as I have experience in interventional pain management and am ready to take on the next step.
