Through his leadership and vast experience, Dr. Good is reshaping the future of spine care for patients with complex spinal conditions. His expertise extends to all varieties of spine care including degenerative conditions, athletic injuries, minimally invasive surgery, scoliosis correction, and repair of failed spine surgery. He has also pioneered the use of robotics and navigation in spine surgery, establishing himself as a world expert in the field, by performing the first and most advanced robotic spine surgery in the region.
Christopher R. Good, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon and president of Virginia Spine Institute in Reston.
Dr. Good is also the director of scoliosis and spinal deformity at Virginia Spine Institute. He specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal regenerative therapy, robotic-assisted spine surgery, revision spine surgery and spinal deformity and scoliosis reconstruction.
Dr. Good received his medical degree from the University of Rochester (N.Y.) School of Medicine and Dentistry and underwent spine surgery fellowship training at Washington University in St. Louis. He performed the first open robotic sacroiliac joint fusion surgery in North America in 2013 and serves as the principal investigator on multiple robotic-assisted spine surgery studies.
He has pioneered the use of regenerative stem cell therapy for lumbar disc disease. Dr. Good’s research has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed scientific journals. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons and Medical Society of Virginia, among other professional organizations.
Dr. Christopher Good is a double board certified spine surgeon and the President of Virginia Spine Institute. Established as a world expert in the field, Dr. Good has pioneered the use of robotics, navigation, and augmented reality (AR) in spine surgery. He performed the first two-level disc replacement in Metro DC, Maryland, and Virginia region, and continues to evolve motion-enhancing procedures for patients suffering from neck and back conditions.
