Dr. Schuler Garners National Recognition As, “Spine Surgeon Leader To Know”

VSI is proud to announce its CEO and founder, Dr. Thomas Schuler,  has been named Spine Surgeon Leader to Know 2016 by Becker’s Spine Review. In addition to his educational merits, Dr. Schuler’s most noted accomplishments listed include his work on pioneering the first hybrid multi-level cervical artificial disc replacement with spinal fusion and his work in regenerative therapy research.

Spine Surgeon Leader to Know

Board-certified surgeon, Thomas C. Schuler, MD, founded Reston-based Virginia Spine Institute and now serves as CEO.

He performed the first hybrid multi-level cervical artificial disc replacement with spinal fusion. He is heavily involved in regenerative therapy research and has participated in various FDA studies. He previously served as the spine consultant to the Washington Redskins.

Dr. Schuler is a fellow of American College of Spine Surgery, American College of Surgeons and American College of Orthopaedic Surgery.

After obtaining his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Dr. Schuler completed his orthopedic surgery residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oaks, Mich. He then completed his spinal surgery fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
